We are a family business with over 30 years experience in the dental industry, with involvement in both the public and private sector.
We maintain currency in the industry, are up to date with the ADA guidelines and understand the importance of infection control in dental practice. Our experience has shown us that correct placement and removal of barriers is an effective method of infection control. Barriers, when used correctly, minimise the amount of bio-burden to be removed with detergents and disinfectants. Excessive use of detergents and disinfectants can damage equipment and create exposure to chemicals in the workplace. By using barriers we are minimising the excessive use of detergents and disinfectants, therefore protecting equipment from damage and protecting staff and patients from excessive exposure to chemicals. Current guidelines recommend use of barriers on hard to clean equipment and surfaces to minimise the amount of bioburden on equipment and working surfaces.
In our experiences, the only disadvantage to the use of barriers is the amount of plastic used and thrown out into landfill. This is a concern voiced frequently by many practitioners and staff, so we have sourced a manufacturer to make barriers from a more environmentally friendly material. Our products are plastic with TDPA’s (Totally Degradable Plastic Additives) added. TDPA’s accelerate the break down process, once in landfill. The product breaks down within 1-2 years as opposed to 100s-1000s years. We have expanded our product range to include other plastic single use items from the same material. These harder plastic items take 3-5 years to break down. Our barriers have the same look and durability as other plastic barriers used, whilst being less expensive and much better for the environment.
Our Mission Statement
– To provide an environmental alternative to industry where large amounts of plastics are used daily
– To create an awareness of the current environmental impact amongst the relevant industries
– To reduce an abundance of polyethylene plastics disposed of in land fill and consequently make a huge impact on improvement to environmental factors
– To provide good quality degradable plastic barriers to relevant industry where plastic barriers are used and disposed of in abundance
– To promote and educate prospective users on the environmental advantage and impact they will have in their day to day business

We sell direct to Dental Practices throughout Australia. On average, one patient dental treatment visit uses 12 – 15 pieces of plastic barrier. That equates to a lot of plastic per day, in one dental surgery, going into our landfill.
We provide cost effective, degradable plastic barriers at very comparable prices. The 100% oxo-degradable material used will biodegrade into non toxic end products within 1- 2 years when discarded in landfill as opposed to conventional non degradable plastic products taking hundreds to thousands of years to degrade.
